Description:

In this course, students are introduced to the roles and responsibilities of the clinical nurse leader (CNL). Clinical leadership skills are explored within the broader framework of system change and quality improvement. The emphasis is on both the individual CNL role and implementation of the CNL role within interdisciplinary teams. Students also explore organizational microsystems using a national framework to optimize healthcare system performance. Through a precepted clinical leadership experience, the student begins exposure to the multifaceted role of the CNL.
