Facilities
The School of Nursing is housed in the recently renovated Helen Wood Hall and the newly built Loretta C. Ford Education Wing, just across the street from the University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Memorial Hospital. We are conveniently located near restaurants, shopping malls, and apartment complexes.
Classrooms and administrative and faculty offices are all located under one roof. That, plus our intimate size of about 130,000 square feet, provides an environment that supports student-to-student and student-to-faculty interaction.

A 170-seat, high-tech auditorium with a state-of-the-art projection system that serves as a venue for classes, seminars and national conferences hosted by the School of Nursing

Comfortable study spaces for both individual and group work

Skills Labs are available, outside of scheduled class sessions, for independent practice and skills training by all nursing students. Between both rooms there are:

Eight hospital beds, each equipped with wall-mounted oto/opthalmoscopes, two VCRs with TV sets, four exam tables with wall-mounted oto/opthalmoscopes, eight networked computer stations, and a variety of useable medical supplies, informational posters, and models

Numerous other materials to aid in learning a variety of nursing skills

A Center for Doctoral Programs that includes dedicated carrel space, a drop-in zone, rooms for group project work and meetings between teaching assistants and students and a lounge area and kitchen area to accommodate the sometimes long and late hours worked by doctoral students.

An on-site study room with back issues of nursing and medical journals, reference guides, clinical handbooks and textbooks, plus the extensive library system of the University of Rochester Medical Center
