Visiting Scholars

The University of Rochester School of Nursing welcomes scholars from faculties of other universities to spend time studying with our faculty, administrators, staff, and students. Applications must be received at least 6 months in advance of the visit.

Our school has much to offer in terms of faculty expertise in nursing education, clinical practice, and research in nursing. As a small private school of nursing with a strong research emphasis, we are able to more easily integrate international visitors into our school community, including exposure to all levels of nursing education, research, and practice.

Role of the Scholar

Before we can decide whether we can accommodate your learning needs, the prospective scholar must fill out an application. Based on this information, we can determine if the University of Rochester School of Nursing has the resources to optimally provide a learning experience for the scholar.

Role of the Mentor

For visits longer than one week, your learning will best be augmented by working with a mentor. We will choose a mentor for you who has expertise in your area of study. Your mentor will be able to guide your experience since he or she will have knowledge of University of Rochester School of Nursing and University resources. The mentor will work with you to provide an outline of your proposed program of study. The mentor may also be able to assist you in learning about our culture.

Role of the Student Affairs Office
