Mark McNaney

I could tell you a long, boring story about reinventing self or effectively image Mark McNanytransitioning a career from the for-profit corporate world into education or health care. However, I find that particularly uninteresting.. You would too.

Nor do I need to try and sell you the program with an elaborate list of its advantages vs. other degree choices. You don't need or want that.

Instead, I will inform you about what you can expect as a student in the University of Rochester's graduate program in Health Systems Leadership by asking you a few simple questions.

If so, I will tell you that you found the right program.                          If so, you are in the right place.       If so, you will find yourself well positioned to find success.

Don't ask yourself, "Is this the right choice for me?" Instead, step boldly and confidently in the pursuit of your future.

Ask to see the list of program alumni who have successfully navigated the program's curriculum only to find their own spectacular careers. Similarly, you will soon find yourself in the midst of a cohort of future leaders and well along your own path to success.

The simple fact is this - the program works. It was an honor for me to be selected to participate in the inaugural class of the Masters program in Health Systems Leadership.

Mark McNaney is the Administrator of the Organ Transplant program at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Mr. McNaney has an AAS and a BS in Accounting and Business Administration and an MS in Health Systems Leadership from the University of Rochester. In his career, he has worked in financial and operational management positions at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Xerox Corporation, and the University of Rochester. As his capstone project in the graduate program at the University of Rochester, Mr. McNaney took part in researching, designing and implementing a diabetes self-management program for the severely and persistently mentally ill. Since his graduation, he has taught courses in telehealth applications both at the American Telemedicine Association and the University of Rochester School of Nursing.
