NUR 459 - Individual Psychotherapy Across the Lifespan II

Description:

This course provides a systematic exploration of evidence-based psychotherapy for specific disorders and age groups across the lifespan. Part I focuses psychotherapeutic approaches for adult populations, and part II focuses on psychotherapy for children and adolescents. This course is Part II and builds upon the student’s knowledge of biopsychosocial development, mental health assessment, and psychopathology. Students apply theoretically-derived therapy models to address clinical problems in case scenarios. The process of the psychotherapeutic relationship is examined.  Attention is given to the cultural, ethical, legal, and public policy implications of providing psychotherapy for diverse individuals.
