NUR 377 - Advanced Medical - Surgical Nursing

Description:

The Advanced-Medical Surgical Nursing course focuses on the synthesis of fundamental nursing skills and concepts, critical thinking, and utilization of the nursing process to provide holistic care for clients with acute health problems. Emphasis is placed on nursing roles in advanced medical/surgical care, the community, and inter-disciplinary teams. Integrated throughout this course are concepts of: critical thinking, clinical judgement, prioritization, collaboration, diverse and culturally sensitive care, and safe-care practices. Clinical and simulation experiences provide students the opportunity to formulate a client-centered plan of care and apply evidence-based practice to optimize client outcomes.
