 This award is presented at the fall Clare Dennison Luncheon.

 Eligibility Criteria

 Applicant must:

  • Be a matriculated student in undergraduate nursing baccalaureate program

  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

 Additional factors include future nursing goals, leadership skills, community and professional activities, future
 potential in nursing and financial need.

 Applicants will provide:

  • A transcript or advising record

  • Two letters of support from faculty addressing:

    • Scholarly activity as evidenced by ability to apply theoretical knowledge (papers, research)

    • Leadership skills as evidenced by interpersonal skills, committee involvement and other appropriate activities

    • Future potential in nursing

  • A written statement from the applicant to include:

    • Future nursing goals

    • Community/professional organization involvement

    • Financial need (how award will be utilized)

  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

    • Scholarly activity as evidenced by ability to apply theoretical knowledge (papers, research)

Up to $2,500 and Plaque

 This award is presented at the spring business dinner.

 Eligibility Criteria

 Applicant must:

  • Hold formal preparation in the conduct of nursing research

  • Have a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing, or be a nursing student enrolled in a higher degree program in nursing with direct supervision of a qualified professor meeting applicant criteria (applicant submits supervisor's CV)

  • Be an active member of Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Xi Chapter

 Eligibility Criteria

  • Award is available within two years of successful defended dissertation

  • Applicant must be a registered nurse

  • Appplicant must be an Epsilon Xi Chapter member

Jeanne T. Grace Excellence in Evidenced Based Practice Award - link to application form

Up to $500 and Certificate

This award is presented during National Nurses Week each year to a clinician or group of clinicians who demonstrate evidence based practice through the following behaviors:

  • Identify and formulate a clinically important questions in an answerable format

  • Conduct an effective search for evidence relevant to the questions

  • Critically appraise the evidence for validity and applicability to the clinical setting

  • Apply the evidence to address the clinical problem

  • Evaluate the application of evidence to the clinical problem in a systematic way

  • Communicate the results of the evidence application in ways that benefit the care of other patients or enhance the practice of other clinicians

Requirements

  • Membership in Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Xi Chapter is not required

  • Submit the application for consideration by the Awards Committee to Teresa_Rogers@URMC.rochester.edu.

  • The application should be a document no longer than 5 pages which addresses each point specified in the criteria.

  • A cover letter should be included which contains the name(s) and credential(s) of clinicians applying for the award, organizational affiliation, and primary contact person.

  • Application deadline is March 1, every year

  • The winner will be notified no later than April 30

  • A $500 cash award and certificate will be presented to the winning project during the National Nurses Week

  • Registered Nurse, Currently working

  • BSN degree or matriculated into a program

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be:

  • Clinical advancement system level II or ASPAN II or above

  • Demonstrate leadership skills

  • Demonstrate future potential in nursing leadership

  • Future nursing goals

  • Community or professional organizational involvement

  • Membership in Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Xi Chapter is not required
