About the University of Rochester School of Nursing
The School of Nursing at the University of Rochester is a private, non-profit university offering fully-accredited undergraduate, graduate, and certificate nursing programs. Founded in 1925, it was among the first in the country to offer nursing education at a University. And in 1972 it was established as an independent school by Dean Loretta Ford — co-developer and pioneer of the nurse practitioner model.
