Bio
Lydia Rotondo, DNP, RN, CNS, FNAP, serves as the associate dean for education and student affairs and the director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the University of Rochester School of Nursing. Over the past 10 years, Rotondo has led the school’s development of an academic innovation infrastructure to transform nursing education and implement competency-based education. She has also worked closely with New York State education leaders to pass the recent legislation supporting the use of simulation in clinical nursing education. Rotondo is a national contributor to advancing DNP education and has served on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing New Essentials Implementation Task Force. Rotondo is a past AACN academic nursing leadership fellow and a fellow in the National Academies of Practice.
