Since our founding, the School of Nursing has been a pioneering force in the science and practice of nursing. Today, that spirit of innovation and excellence remains central to our mission to educate a highly diverse, competent, and adaptable nursing workforce. 

Our world-class faculty and instructional designers are dedicated to optimizing innovation at every educational level, from developing evidence-based curricular goals and reinvigorating course delivery methods, to integrating more hands-on, active learning strategies that put our students at the center of their own learning experience.

The techniques and tools our students encounter in our physical and digital environments result in better understanding, greater retention and synthesis of information, and increased familiarity with technology, all of which are proven to promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and problem solving skills—and make our students better nurses.

Incorporating the iPads in our curriculum has truly given value to experiential learning. Learning has become fun and more interactive because of the games, surveys and other activities we are able to do on the iPad. The iPads also create an enriching mock environment of clinical experiences that allow us to exercise and sharpen our fundamental nursing skills, which makes the material that much more comprehensive.
