Bio

Julie Gottfried is dedicated to improving the care of children and their families. For more than 23 years, Gottfried has worked in a variety of clinical and academic roles with an emphasis on children in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The majority of her career has been spent with Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY, where she has practiced as a bedside nurse, as a clinical nurse specialist, and most recently, as a pediatric nurse practitioner within the Pediatric APP Inpatient Team. She also works at Stony Brook Pediatrics as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care. Her teamwork has been recognized at the state level, having received HANYS’ 2015 Pinnacle Award for Quality and Patient Safety, Large Hospital or Health System, for IMPACT: Inpatient Multidisciplinary Pediatric Asthma Care Team. Gottfried has also been recognized individually at the international level by being awarded the Sepsis Alliance’s Erin Kay Flatley 2016 Pediatric Sepsis Nursing Award.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State. She recently served two consecutive terms as the vice president of Sigma Theta Tau’s Epsilon Xi chapter. She previously served on the “Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes (IPSO): National Expert Advisory Committee” through Children’s Hospital Association.
