Estimated Cost for the Accelerated Bachelor’s in Nursing (ABSN) Program

Below is an estimate of the cost of attendance for the 12-Month Accelerated Bachelor’s in Nursing (ABSN) Program for the Fall 2024 Cohort. Use this estimated cost of attendance to help decide how much money you’ll need to attend UR Nursing and how much financial aid you may need to meet that goal.

Health Fees

Full-time students in the Accelerated Bachelor’s (ABSN) program participate in the comprehensive Student Health Program offered by University Health Service (UHS). For general information, see Health Insurance for Full-Time Students.

*All full-time students must have health insurance. Students can enroll in the UR Student Health Insurance Plan or remain on their insurance if it meets the University Insurance Criteria.

NCLEX Exam and Licensure Fees

The cost for graduates of the Accelerated Bachelor's (ABSN) program to take the NCLEX-RN exam is $200. The New York State licensure fee is $143 (Other states vary from $90 to $350).

NCLEX Exam and Licensure Fees

Upon graduation MDE graduates will take the NCLEX-RN exam, which includes a fee of $200. The New York State licensure fee is $143 (Other states vary from $90 to $350).

We offer significant scholarships and grants to RN to BS students to support your career goals. Depending on where you live and work, you may be eligible for one of our scholarships.

Certification Exam and Licensure Fees

For master's students who complete a certification exam upon graduation, exam costs will vary by organization ($315 for AANP, $395 for ANCC, and $425 for the CNL exam). 

For nurse practitioner students who are eligible for state licensure, the state licensure fee varies by state ($85 for New York State, or $100-$500 for other states).

Estimated Cost for PhD in Nursing & Health Science Program

Below is an estimate of the cost of attendance for PhD students at UR Nursing for the 2024-25 academic year. Reference Tuition Rate Schedule of Charges and your program’s degree plan to determine your estimated costs.

All full-time PhD students at the School of Nursing receive a full tuition waiver for up to 60 credits as well as health insurance coverage. The School of Nursing provides tuition awards for PhD and MS-PhD students for the required courses in both the master's and PhD programs.
