Bio
Kristina Santory is an instructor of clinical nursing at the University of Rochester School of Nursing where she teaches classes in the Accelerated Bachelor's Program for Non-Nurses and the Master's in Nursing Education program. Santory began her career as an RN on a neurosurgery step-down unit at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2010. She later became the clinical nurse educator and served as the neurosurgery service nurse educator. In 2018, Santory transferred to the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Lab at the University of Rochester Medical Center where she continues to work as a senior level-three registered nurse.
In 2023, she received the annual Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching for her commitment to students and outstanding performance in teaching. Student nominators praised Santory as a “beacon of advocacy” who prioritizes students’ wellness and goes above and beyond to help them succeed. Santory is currently pursuing her doctorate of education in Instructional Leadership - Nurse Education at the University of Alabama. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Rochester, bachelor's degree in nursing from Nazareth College, and master's degree in health professions education from the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education.
Kristina is currently pursing an EdD in Instructional Leadership - Nursing Education from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, and expects to graduate in 2026.
