Bio
Rebecca Tucker, PhD, MEd, ACNPC, RN, serves as chief wellness officer for the UR Medicine Center for Employee Wellness, leading comprehensive health and wellness initiatives for nearly 70,000 individuals across 90 organizations in Western New York. As an acute care nurse practitioner, Tucker continues her clinical practice in the Heart Center at Strong Memorial Hospital, ensuring employee wellness programs are grounded in current clinical excellence.
With over two decades of experience, Tucker is a recognized leader in cardiovascular prevention and nursing education. Her career spans roles as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehabilitation, registered nurse in cardiac intensive care, and nurse practitioner in both inpatient and consult cardiac settings. She is an associate professor of clinical nursing at the University of Rochester School of Nursing, where she has led advanced pharmacology and pathophysiology courses and mentored nurse practitioner students.
Tucker’s clinical scholarship includes authoring nursing pharmacology texts, publishing in critical care and cardiology journals, and contributing to innovative research on heart failure and cardiovascular risk. She is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the American College of Cardiology, and has received awards for scholarly practice and teaching excellence.
A passionate advocate for evidence-based care and wellness, Tucker is dedicated to improving quality of life for patients and communities — leading nurse-driven, person-centered programs that foster health, autonomy, and prevention throughout the region.
Tucker earned her PhD in Health Practice Research and a master's degree in nursing as an acute care nurse practitioner from the University of Rochester. She also holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University at Buffalo, a master's in kinesiology from Temple University, and a bachelor's degree in psychology and physical education from SUNY Brockport.
