Bio

Rachel Ngo-Oum, MNE, RN, is an instructor of clinical nursing at the University of Rochester School of Nursing. Ngo-Oum currently teaches in the ABSN program and has expertise in experiential learning. She is currently involved in the laboratory and clinical education sector and has been teaching nursing assessment, medical and surgical nursing, intermediate med surge, and advanced medical and surgical nursing. Her specialty is adult medical and surgical care, and she enjoys working with students of various backgrounds and interests. She believes that becoming a nurse lies in hard work and commitment to patients and their families. Being part of students' journeys enables her to grow as a nurse, especially within the field of nursing education. Ngo-Oum believes watching students from day one to graduation and from novice to expert speaks loudly about how quality education can improve relationships between future nurses and their patients. She earned a master's in nursing education from Roberts Wesleyan University.
