Bio

Tobie Olsan earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Nazareth College, a master's of public administration from SUNY Brockport and a master's in nursing administration and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Rochester School of Nursing.

Her research interests are in enhancing health care team competence in quality improvement, interprofessional collaboration and leadership, and improving home-based care for veterans. She developed and served as program director for the School of Nursing's Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) programs.

Active in many professional and community organizations, she has served as past director of the Greater Rochester Nursing Home Quality Consortium, president of the Genesee Valley Nurses Association, president of the Epsilon Xi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, and co-founder of the Finger Lakes Nursing Workforce Collaborative. She has served as board member of AIDS Rochester and the Jewish Home of Rochester. She has been named a Geriatric Nursing Research Scholar by the John A. Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing and was presented with the UR School of Nursing's Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
