National Nurses Week Flyer with Hearts

The University of Rochester School of Nursing is hosting and supporting a series of events throughout the week to recognize and celebrate National Nurses Week. National Nurses Week is held in recognition of the invaluable service that nurses provide in caring for and improving the health of their patients. The celebration begins on May 6 and ends on May 12.

Monday, May 6: Free Coffee Day for URMC Nurses at Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters, sponsored by School of Nursing Alumni Relations.

Tuesday, May 7: Professional Development Wellness Fair for URMC nurses in Flaum Atrium from 10a.m.-3p.m.

Tuesday, May 7: Conversation with the Dean 2024: Health Care Harmony, sponsored by SON Alumni Relations in partnership with the University of Rochester School of Nursing from 12-1:00 p.m. 

Wednesday, May 8: Talk Show Nursing Panel Discussion in the Class of ’62 Auditorium from 1-2:30 p.m., sponsored by the Professional Nursing Council, Nursing Ethics Council, and Scheduling & Safe Staffing Council.

Thursday, May 9: The Digital Transformation of Healthcare with Michael Hasselberg, PhD, RN, PMHNP-BC, chief digital officer at UR Medicine, virtual or in the Class of ‘62 Auditorium with food sponsored by SON Alumni Relations for the first 100 people registered. Two sessions: 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. One nursing contact hour available.

Each year, the American Nurses Association selects a theme to commemorate the occasion, and for 2024, the theme is “Nurses Make a Difference.” This theme was chosen to highlight the diverse roles of nurses and the significant impact they have on the communities they serve.
