Brophy began her career as a nurse in critical care and perioperative units at Strong Memorial and Rochester General Hospitals, later advancing to key leadership roles as nurse manager, director of education at Highland Hospital, and assistant dean for education at the School of Nursing.

Her academic background includes an EdD in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Rochester, master’s degrees in nursing education and medical management, and national certification as a nurse educator.

The School is recognized for its innovative simulation learning environments, hands-on clinical training, and cutting-edge academic offerings – and recently earned top U.S. News & World Report rankings among the nation’s nursing schools: No. 22 for undergraduate nursing, No. 15 for master’s, and No. 28 for Doctor of Nursing Practice programs.

Brophy’s leadership is expected to play a central role in sustaining and expanding these achievements, ensuring that the School remains at the forefront of nursing education and responsive to evolving healthcare workforce needs.
