Current Focus

My current focus is in experiential learning within the School of Nursing Accelerated Programs for Non-Nurses. This includes collaborative learning with the various programs in the School of Nursing and the School of Medicine & Dentistry. I believe that interprofessional education in the health care field is vital to improving the health of the individual as well as the nation. Through experiential learning it is possible to provide a safe space for future clinicians to improve their skill sets including interdisciplinary communication which is vital to patient safety. Technological advances have allowed for actual and virtual experiences that mimic real life situations providing the learners with improved skillsets and confidence in dealing with real life issues. My focus to help the learner make the transition from classroom to practice helps provides me with a high level of satisfaction in a work environment that continues to nurture me.
