Bio
Megan Christian, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, is a physical therapist, Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of Clinical Education for the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Rochester School of Nursing. She joined the faculty in April 2026 and continues to practice clinically within the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at URochester Medicine.
Christian is a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and Sports Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She has more than 15 years of experience in orthopaedic and sports physical therapy, clinical leadership, mentorship, and professional education.
As the former clinical site manager for URochester Medicine’s Strong West rehabilitation office, she has led clinical operations, supported staff development, and contributed to program growth within a rural community. This work strengthened her commitment to rural health care and to improving access to high-quality rehabilitation services.
She previously served as the Site Coordinator of Clinical Education for UR Medicine’s orthopaedic rehabilitation department, coordinating student experiences across multiple clinical locations and building partnerships with physical therapy programs. She also served as a mentor and faculty member in URochester Medicine’s Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy residency programs. These experiences fostered her passion for helping students, residents, and clinicians achieve their professional goals and reinforced the importance of preparing highly skilled and clinically prepared entry-level practitioners.
Christian is pursuing an EdD in Health Professions Education and Leadership at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education and Human Development. Her work focuses on applying learning science, evidence-informed teaching strategies, and innovative approaches to curriculum development and assessment. Her current scholarship focuses on clinical reasoning development in physical therapy residency education and the use of structured mentorship strategies to support clinical reasoning.
