Bio
Michael Stroud, PT, DPT, CCS, is a board-certified cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapist, educator, and researcher with expertise in acute care, critical care, cardiovascular rehabilitation, and exercise physiology. He serves as a core faculty member in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, where he teaches physiology, cardiopulmonary physical therapy, pharmacology, and the management of medically complex patients. His clinical career has focused on the care of critically ill adults, including leadership in early mobility initiatives, interdisciplinary quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. Stroud is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences with research examining fear of movement, frailty, and early mobility outcomes in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention. His scholarly interests include cardiovascular rehabilitation, implementation of early mobility, physical therapy education, and improving functional recovery after cardiovascular surgery.
