Bio
Jinjiao Wang joined the School of Nursing as an assistant professor in 2017. Wang is passionate about improving the quality, equity, and efficiency of home-based health care services for older adults. Her career as a nursing scientist has been focused on improving home health care services, interventions, and outcomes of older adults with complex medical conditions and geriatric syndromes, such as polypharmacy, depression, cognitive impairment, and functional limitations. Her scholarly work to date has been focused on the evaluation of home health care services and delivery, the examination of geriatric syndromes, and the development of innovative interventions. Wang has experience conducting studies on patient outcomes and health services delivery that involve the design and testing of pragmatic health services interventions, qualitative interviews, direct observation, and mixed method group participatory concept mapping, as well as analysis of large datasets using sophisticated statistical and data science methods.
Current Focus
As a nurse scientist, my heart always goes to the older (and also wiser) adults. Professionally, my goal is to help older adults maintain independence and safety at home through targeted and effective home-based services, such as home health care. Currently, I am conducting large data analysis with qualitative data collection with stakeholders (patients, caregivers, home health professionals) to understand how policies, services, caregiver, and patient conditions affect the utilization, quality, and outcomes of home health care services.
