Bio
Susan Nickason brings 20 years of nursing experience as an instructor of clinical nursing at the University of Rochester School of Nursing. Nickason began her role in Summer 2021 and teaches in the School’s Accelerated Nursing and RN to BS programs. She teaches the following courses:
- NUR 354 - Nursing Leadership and Management of Care
- NUR 371 - Management of Care
- NUR 372 - Beginning Medical-Surgical Nursing
- NUR 374B - Nursing Care and Health Promotion for Pediatric Clients and Their Families
Current Focus
I have always wanted to teach nursing after being inspired by those who have taught me. My past nurse manager role will allow me to share knowledge from a leadership perspective with students. I hope to make an impact on students by teaching them to be trauma-informed nurses.
