The University of Rochester's Accelerated Bachelor's in Nursing Program (ABSN) empowers bright and motivated students to become a nurse at a nationally-ranked university in upstate New York.

Students will complete 49 nursing credits and 650+ clinical hours in med-surg, obstetrics, pediatrics, and psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center campus. After three or six semesters of coursework, students will earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing from the University of Rochester. Graduates will then sit for the NCLEX-RN exam to obtain RN licensure.

To be eligible for admission to the Accelerated Bachelor's in Nursing Programs, students must have earned a previous bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing. Students may apply to begin the program in the spring, summer, or fall semester with successful completion of prerequisite course requirements.

Quotation Mark

One thing about nursing that lets me know it's the path for me is the privilege of helping someone in the most intimate time of their life. To be able to be there for someone and help them along that path—it's a blessing, and it's something that I won't give up for anything. I personally would like to thank the School of Nursing for giving me the chance to do something I love.
