Maternal Malnutrition and Adverse Birth Outcomes following Bariatric Surgery: Insights from a National Sample

This proposal aims to define the scope of the problem of maternal malnutrition and adverse birth outcomes following bariatric surgery, as well as clarify the relationships between them. Findings are expected to assist clinicians and researchers to provide more precise counseling concerning the (dis)advantages of bariatric surgery related to pregnancy outcomes, and contribute to efforts to enhance maternal, neonatal, and child health in the growing population of women who conceive following bariatric surgery.
