About the EmPATH Research Group

The EmPATH research group at the University of Rochester School of Nursing features faculty and doctoral students doing work at the intersection of parent-child and adolescent health.

Research Focus

Our team’s areas of research focus include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Maternal and fetal assessment
  • Clinical decision-making during pregnancy
  • Body weight during pregnancy and the postpartum period
  • Metabolic and psychological risk assessment
  • Diet and eating behaviors of young children
  • Adolescent and young adult eating behaviors, medical management of eating disorders
  • Eating disorder risk, prevention, and maintenance
  • LGBTQIA+ health
