NLX 486 - HCM Capstone

This final summative course in the interdisciplinary HCM program focuses on demonstration of the role of the health care leader through the design, implementation, or evaluation of an evidence-based practice change, quality improvement initiative, or innovation project at the unit, service, department, organization, or community level. Students explore the collaborative role of the health care leader in achieving an organization’s mission and vision by applying innovative, evidence-based solutions to healthcare challenges during this 168-hour capstone project. This project provides a collaborative learning experience in which students work with a leadership preceptor and a School of Nursing faculty mentor. Students demonstrate their learning in both project and seminar aspects of this course from theoretical, philosophical, and experiential perspectives.
