Description:

The purpose of the Music in Health and Healing course is to explore the relationship between music and health. Topics include: the effect music has on the brain, both in healthy and non-healthy states, traditions where music has been used for healing, and research on the use of music to help restore health or bring back memories to those who have forgotten them. No formal music knowledge is needed for the course as basic musical concepts, such as rhythm, pitch, and sound transmission, will be taught very early in the course.
