Prerequisite:

None for matriculated students, but course content preceding NUR 573 in the part-time DNP program sequence contains important background material.

Description:

DNP-prepared clinicians and leaders are expected to use interprofessional approaches within an environment that is more complex, diverse, and disparate than ever before. Foundational skills surrounding communication, facilitation, diversity awareness, and team dynamics are critical for DNP-prepared nurses to successfully address and impact population health and health disparity issues. This course is designed to strengthen and expand foundational leadership competencies among these critical skills. Using a variety of experiential learning activities, students will learn the essential skills needed to communicate, facilitate, and lead dynamic, interprofessional teams across a variety of healthcare settings.
