NP Licensure & National Certification
The Nurse Practitioner programs at the University of Rochester School of Nursing are designed to satisfy the academic requirements for licensure as an NP within the State of New York. Additionally, the nurse practitioner programs are designed to prepare students for national certification within an area of specialty practice (see specific national certifications on specialty pages).
Federal regulations require that all colleges and universities disclose whether their programs leading to professional licensure will meet educational requirements for licensure in each state. The University of Rochester School of Nursing has been able to determine that its Nurse Practitioner programs meet all out-of-state requirements and will continue to review the requirements periodically.
