Graduate Nursing Programs
The University of Rochester School of Nursing has long been a pioneering force in the science and practice of nursing. We offered our first master’s degree in nursing education in 1951. And in 1972, we were established as an independent school by Dean Loretta Ford — co-developer and pioneer of the nurse practitioner model. Today, our faculty continue to transform nursing education by sharing their expertise and teaching new ways of thinking while applying their skills as clinicians, researchers, and educators.
