NLX 476 - CNL Immersion Experience

3 credits ( 1 didactic credit / 2 clinical credits )

Prerequisite:

NLX 475, or permission of the instructor. The course is not open to non-matriculated students.

Description:

Following successful completion of the clinical nurse leader (CNL) role course, this field immersion course provides the students with an opportunity to design and implement clinical leadership practices including health promotion and risk reduction for diverse patient populations. This takes place in the context of complex micro-, meso-, and macro-level system relationships in a healthcare setting.  During their two credits of precepted immersion into a microsystem, students continue exploration of CNL role attainment as well as formulate and begin implementation of a quality improvement project to be completed in the summative CNL course.
