Description:

This is the last of three clinical courses for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) students. Students synthesize relevant evidence, previous knowledge, feedback, and self-reflection to demonstrate expected competencies in the PMHNP role. Learning activities and clinical experiences allow students to refine culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches in their processes of assessment, differential diagnoses, psychoeducation, and treatment planning. Students further analyze the ethical, legal, public policy, advocacy, quality, safety, interprofessional, and organizational concerns impacting advanced psychiatric mental health nursing practice while maintaining professional standards, therapeutic boundaries, and their own wellbeing.
