Description:
The Pathophysiology and Pharmacology for Nursing Practice course builds on the foundation of human anatomy and physiology to provide nursing students with the fundamentals of pathophysiology and pharmacology. The course provides an overview of the normal and abnormal functioning of human cells, tissues, and organ systems. Pathophysiologic concepts and processes are introduced with major emphasis on commonly occurring acute and chronic illnesses. Additionally, students will be introduced to the pharmacodynamics, therapeutic uses, side effects, and nursing implications of various pharmacological-therapeutic classes of drugs affecting body systems.
