NUR 518 - Advanced Qualitative Research Design and Methods

Description:

This advanced course extends foundational knowledge in qualitative research by enabling learners to examine in depth qualitative descriptive designs and develop a rigorous study proposal. Students will learn processes and strategies for specific aims development, data collection, data analysis, interpretation, and trustworthiness. Specific analytic approaches common to qualitative data analysis will be reviewed and practiced including open coding, directed coding using sensitizing frameworks, dyadic analyses, and within and across group analytic techniques. Students will also review how qualitative techniques can be integrated into mixed methods designs with epistemological integrity.
