Description:

Machine learning applies advanced computational techniques to healthcare, enabling predictive and causal models that are poised to transform clinical practice in the coming decade. To effectively integrate these innovations into health sciences, researchers and clinicians must grasp the fundamentals of machine learning and its diverse applications. This course provides an overview of machine learning methodologies and critically evaluates their use in specific clinical tasks. Topics include applications in primary and acute care, chronic disease management, global health, genomics, and medical imaging. A basic understanding of statistics and clinical research methods is recommended.
