NUR 571 - Theoretical and Conceptual Foundations for Clinical Scholarship

Description:

Application of theory to solve challenging clinical problems or improve healthcare is central to doctoral nursing practice. Skilled at knowledge translation in diverse healthcare environments, DNP-prepared nurses develop context-specific, theoretically-guided interventions to improve to delivery and outcomes of care. The practice-focused doctorate also offers nascent opportunity for theory innovation and generation of new knowledge from clinical practice. This course will provide an overview of knowledge development in nursing, explore evolving perspectives on advancing the science of practice, and examine tools of clinical scholarship to support DNP inquiry.
