NLX 464 Informatics, Process Improvement and Value in Healthcare (or can be taken as a co-requisite); NLX 470 Foundations of Leadership and Organizational Behavior; NUR 509 Clinical Data Management for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP); 
NUR 571 Theoretical and Conceptual Foundations for Clinical Scholarship; NUR 572 Appraisal and Application of Evidence in Healthcare (or can be taken as a co-requisite)

NLX 464 Informatics, Process Improvement and Value in Healthcare; NUR 572 Appraisal and Application of Evidence in Healthcare. This course is open to students matriculated into the DNP program and others with permission from the instructor(s) of co-requisite course(s).

Description:

Effective organizational and systems leadership for quality improvement and systems thinking is vital to improve healthcare outcomes. DNP-prepared nurses must possess requisite knowledge and skills for the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of projects and their continuous management. This course will provide the learner with essential project management skills, including the ability to assess organizations, identify systems’ issues or innovative opportunities, and facilitate organization-wide changes in practice delivery. Real-world exemplars and activities help lay the foundational for successful project planning and management, as well as the use of clinical needs assessments and logic models to shape projects.
