Description:
This first practicum course provides students with learning experiences to translate evidence to address a problem or opportunity within the student's identified area of specialization. Students explore best practice approaches and the theoretical and scientific foundation for practice through the search, analysis, and synthesis of the literature and evidence, as well as exploration of foundational theoretical concepts that inform nursing practice. Through the completion of coursework and practicum experiences, students develop clinical scholarship as they demonstrate their ability to analyze, integrate, apply, and evaluate knowledge as DNP-prepared nurses gained through foundational coursework framed by the Essentials.
