NUR 581 - Clinical Immersion: Systems Thinking

Description:

In this 2-credit doctoral immersion provides the structure to cultivate the student's expertise in systems thinking and health systems science. The student's immersion experiences, totaling 120 practicum hours, will provide opportunities to apply and deepen their knowledge, supporting the growth of their clinical scholarship and leadership. The student will engage with activities outlined by the Waters Center for Systems Thinking, where the 'Habits of a Systems Thinker' form the core of the approach. These Habits will equip the student with ways of thinking about how systems work and how their actions can impact results over time. This comprehensive spectrum of strategies will foster the student's problem-solving skills and encourage thoughtful reflection about the systems pertinent to their individual competencies and practice environments, as the student critically examine complex healthcare challenges and drive innovative solutions within diverse health systems.
