Description:

This course provides an introduction to principles of teaching and learning in nursing education. Framed by the National League for Nursing’s Core Competencies for Nurse Educators, this course explores the role of the nurse educator in clinical and academic settings. Students will examine innovations in nursing education that support and promote a culture of active teaching and learning using evidence-based strategies. Best practices in assessment and evaluation, exploration of legal and ethical issues, classroom management and teaching within both a clinical and academic environment are analyzed in this course. This course provides the role-specific foundation for all courses in the MNE curriculum.
