Description:
This is the first of three clinical courses designed to prepare students as pediatric primary care nurse practitioners (PNPs) within a culturally diverse society. Content focuses on the fundamentals of evaluating and managing the care of infants, children, and adolescents who are well or experiencing common health problems in primary care settings. Learning activities and clinical experiences allow students to apply advanced health assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills necessary for safe, high-quality, child/family-centered, team-based clinical care. Students will demonstrate early competence in the PNP role at course completion.
